years go today is the day we go Z for Maima
So we had a celebration on the the weekend . We took all her cousins to nickle cade and it was so sun. Then today we had a little party at her pre school class. I talked about Haiti ans the earth quack, and adoption. The i open the decussion up for questions. First 5 year old boy says I am going to Chicago to see my girlfriend but i will be back. next kid My brother has a belly ache. Next little girlMy grand ma lives here. So with all those questions out of the way i gave them a treat bag and was on my way.

Tonight we went to see beauty and the beast in 3D Z loved it. Then we came home and we gave her a gift. A v tech reader. And R got me flowers. What a grat gaccha day

So we have started the process to make Z a citizen. Do to the circumstance on the way she came home from HAiti this step was not done. (LOng story) any who , we are getting ready to send in the paper work to get this done. For those of you who read my blog and are not familar with the process we have to take Z to a civil surgeon. This is a doctor who has been trained to fill out a form for the USCIS (imagration) . I took her there last week only to find out that she had to get 4 shots.UGGG so I had the TB test done and made a doctors appointment to see her regular doc. She was not happy at all and my mothers gulit was in full force at the doc. appointment and i told Z she could get any toy see wanted (with in reason) once we were done.

So we went back to the civil surgeon on Tue. and was able to see the doc. he looked her over checked her shot records and filled out the form. So now we have to fill out more forms and send in the medical forms.

Filling out these form have made me laugh some of the questions we have to answer, keep in mind these questions are asked about Z's intentions in the USA.

Have you EVER with in the past 10 years been a prostitue or procured anyone for prostitution, or intend to engage in such activities in the future?
Do you plan to practice polygamy in the United States?
Killng a person?
Associated with the Nazi party?
This is just a sample of the questions. made me laugh.
So we will send in all the forms and hopfully everything will go great and we will be done.

Year in review

What a years we have had. January we rang in the new year at R's brother house in ohio. Z also got to meet every one for the first time aunts, uncles and cousin great way to start the new year. We also celabrated Z one year of being home, Also my Moms birthday we had a family dinner it was great.

Febuary we have a wonerful family Valentines day and R made us the most delightful dinner.

March was not a great month R lost his job and it was really hard on him. But he is strong and my hero. he is an amazing man and father husband. He found a job 3 months . FYI the gentelman who fired R got fired himself Karma

April Easter and warmer weather.

May we had Gma milly and Aunt JeriLyn to vist for a week. It was so much fun. We got to visit a lot of R's family. We all got together. It is always good to see the family.
r had found a new job and thing were looking up.

June R had a birthday. I volenteered for the show Extreme Home Make over with my BFF and her mom. It was a really fun expierence. we had a great summer. spent a lot of time out side and a local water park. We Lost our cat Belle Ann after 17 years. I had her since i was 20. She died on fatherd day.

July OUr countries birthday. We had my family over for fire workes. This year Utah made all fire work legal so we got some really fun ones.

August Z got her pic in the paper. We were at a show that R's bamd was doing and they took this pic and put it in the paper. It was a church carnaval. And Z went Back to Pre school. She loves school. She got a new teacher and none of her friends from the previous year came back so it took her a little ajustment.

September Z had her 4th bithday party. Or 4teen as i call her. She as an additude that never stops. LOL We aslo got to visit with R;s brother. They moved from Ohio to Oregan and stoped in Utah and was able to stay for Z's birthday. it was so wonerful. We love to see them and wish we lived closer to them.

October Halloween and our anniversary. My favorite time of years. Z wanted to be cinderella and i was her fairy god pig and R was and angery bird. We had so much fun trick or treating. We took her to the neighbor hood i grew up in. So fun. Also Z was a flower gilr in R's cousin Erin wedding . It was so fun to be a part of that. We got a new cat Hattie Mae. She is the craziest cat ever.

November My Grandma turned 90 me and my cousin planned the party and it turn out real nice. I had shoulder surgery 3 days before the party. Gma Milly came in to town to help us with Z. R, milly and Jeissca(r's niece) made 150 cupcakes and put them in the shape of a shoe. I supervised. LOL it was so nice having Milly here this time for my surgery much easier recovery. We can not thank her enough. I had a birthday

December busy busy month. Gma Milly got up new flooring for Christmas, so we spent a long weekend putting the first part of the floor in our upstairs we still have our basemsnt to do.
So in the next couple of weeks that will be done. It looks amazing. We has a great christmas and Z got the only thing she asked for from Satna. A barbie town house. Oh and i lost 10lb so i am starting the new year one the right foot.

We have had a geat years and looking for ward to a great new year. Hopfully a new baby will be this years weather we have one or adopt again. How ever it happen that is what will be. Put it out in the universe and it will come back to you. Z will be in kindergarten so We will start to look for a good school to put her in. R turns 40 this year so we are hoping to go to vegas for that. I will be looking for a job i want to work part time. i do not make resultions but I hope we have a heathy and love filled year.

It has been a wonderfull Christmas and now that it is over what a hangover I haveLOL all the hustle and bussel it makes me feel so tried and a little sad. But Z had an amaing time. We went to Tona a Japaness resturant it is so good. Then we went to te Christmas light in Ogden Utah then it was home to make cookies for Santa. Santa brought Z a Barbie Town House and she just lovesit. It is the only thing she asked for. She said that there are a lot of kids and she only wanted one toy. And so she got it and it was worth it. She was so happy.

Princess problems

So i had surgery on the 5th and Gma Milly has been here to help with Z. It has been a great week even though i could not much. today when i woke up Gma Milly said i have a suprise for you. She said you are the princess for the day and handed me Z's princess bowel. Well if look could kill i would be dead Z was so upset that i was princess for the day. I asked her what is wrong? she said this is the worst day ever I told her I was the princess Gma Milly was the fairy godmohter papa was the prince and she was the step mother and she yelled at the top of her lungs CINDERELLA HATES HER STEP MOTHER. i just laughed and she got even more mad and said to me with FULL attiude LET GET THIS STRAIGHT you can be the princess today but on my birthday i am the PRINCESS. she was very upset so i told her you can be a mouse that helps make the beautiful dress for me and she was a little bit happier and then i finaly said we can both be princess i will be cinderella and she wanted to be snow white so problem solved

R was asked to play with his band at a local Catholic church at there fun raiser. It was a very good friend of our that put the event together. We had s great time. Z love it she got a crown of balloons and to ride the rides and popcorn. Oh and face painted. There was a lot of great music and a raffle. So we had a date night. we got a gift card to a restaurant called grappa in park city about 6 years ago and we finally went up there and used it. We sure had a nice night Thank you Grandma Milly. We had great desserts mine was creme brule with raspberry sauce and R's was a chocolate bomb with espresso middle.

Z helped me made dinner the other night we had chicken parmigiana. It was so good made with love .

Z starts school on Monday this summer went by so fast.

On fathers day (his day) he had to buried our cat Belle. I have had Belle for 17 years long than i have known R. We had to make the most difficult decision to put her to sleep and R did it all. Well today was Z's last day of pre-school look what a year has done. She is a completely different kid. I remember being so sad and crying when she left to go, and i am think to myself how am i going to get through a whole summer with her home LOL She had her graduation next week so that should be fun. I did not know they had graduation from pre school but it should be fun.

So life has been just moving along. R has found a job Yeah. He Will have to drive but only for a awhile they will try and move him closer to where we live. It is almost time for Z to graduate pre school and then the whole summer home. I have been looking for a job but nothing yet. I might be to picky LOL Grandma Milly and Aunt Jerilyn will be here in 2 weeks and Z is so excited to see them. I feel bad she does not get to see R's family very often because she love them so much. We still need to finish up the Z citizenship but are waiting to get our taxes back which we have not hear any new on that either so hopefully one day it will all work it self out. So life is going nothing to report Z is a pretty funny kid. She tries my patience on a daily basis. As i an sure i do her.

Looking forward to the summer we spend a lot of time outside in going to the pool Z just loves it. She also love to go the the movie "eater" to watch movies so we will probably do a lot of that this summer we love the drive in and it is really close to home.

Why d0 i write this blog? I think it is to keep track of the moments we might forget. All the little or big thing we want to save forever. The good moments the bad moment it will all be put into a book so we have it for our family in years to come. I do write in a journal but this is better to put pictures and people to comet and to keep connected to our adoption family and our family that is not with us every day. I love hearing about all the growth of the kids and i hope that everyone like to hear about our little family. I do not write this to be judged in any way it is our life the way we live it and i am very PROUD of my family and all we have done.

It has been a few weeks and a lot has happened. We finally got Z's birth certificate we adopted her Nov 9 2010 so that took awhile. Last week R lost his job. It has been very Stressful. He has been on an interview and has another one on Monday but still stressful. I feel so helpless. He did nothing wrong i mean nothing. We believe thing happen for a reason and i think that he will get a way better job. It has been really nice having him home. So please send us positive thoughts. I love my husband and he is the most amazing man and father i have ever met. We will get though this.

since i am writing this for Z to read one day i should put and update in here about her health

I took her to to doctor yesterday to get all of her shot caught up for the green card and it was horrible. she had to have 5 shots so i bribed her with barbies.

She has gained 10lb in a year and has doubled in height.

The doctor says she is so smart and is so far advance mentally for her age (closer to Five year old) WOW is make me feel so proud of her. She has come so far in a year physically and mentally it is great.

She did things for the doctor i did not know she could do. Like make a circle and lines. The doctor also think she is ambidextrous which is fine with us. We already thought she would be left handed just like her MAMA but both hands is better. (we will see)

This time last year we were scrambling to get ready for Z to come home. Trying to get air fare to Miami at the cheapest price possible getting things ready to bring a 2 year home forever. How life has changed in the last year. for instance i would probably be going to see R's band play tonight but now i am sitting home on a Friday night and me and Z are going to chill at home. Right now as i write this Z and R are playing hair and make up. R has had his hair and make up done about 1000 time in the last year Z just loves it and she also love to boss him around. ( i wonder where she get that from) I know i have said this before and i will say it again LIFE is so different. I have had the chance to stay at home for that last year and just watch her grow. She went from knowing no English to no stop talking and she know more Spanish than me(thanks Dora and Papa). This last year has had it moment but it has been the best year of my life.

So Z has been remembering her dreams. At first we were totally creepped out. A couple of months ago she started talking about a white pig that would come an visit her in her room. She said that it was nice like a mama pig. She said that she asked it to stay but it left and the next time it came she would ask it to play. After that story we thought she must be dreaming but still a little creepy.

She has been waking up in the middle of the night and coming in our room saying she is scared. It is things like sully on monsters inc. or E.T. phone home. So we go and check her room then put her back in and she is fine.

The other day she said to me that go Diego go was in her room with all his animals and she was not scared.

It is really cute that she is remembering her dreams but she still does not understand that they are not real. We will have to work on that.

So we were at wall mart today just doing some shopping for a baby shower gift. I was looking at the diapers and i hear " excuse me mam " and i thought some was talking to my mom then i hear "excuse me mam" "Is that you daughter? " And i was thinking what did she do. I turn to her and said yes. and this very nice gal said" has she ever done any modeling? " I said "no" She said " I work for a modeling agency and i think she could make a great model." of course I was being very cautious I asked her for her card and she took my number and that was that.

I look up the agency and it does exist. We will see I will talk to them this next week.

There are so many funny thing that Z's says i just want to get some of them written down so we will never for get.

We had our dog fix a couple of days ago and R and I was talking about it not thinking she can hear us. The next day my mom came over and she was talking with Z and Z told her that Barney was in the Hospital and got his eyes fixed and he has no balls.

One year ago to day a devastating earthquake rocked Haiti. I will never forget where i was the moment i found out. I was at work my MOM called me and i called R from that moment on our lives would never be the same. R called our agency and a that point they did not even know that it had happened. So they did not have a lot of information to give us we just watched news coverage and waited.........

I did not post a lot when we were gong through it. The two weeks it took us to get Z were there most stressful weeks of our lives. The roller coaster of emotion waiting to see if she was even alive. I remember waking up one morning and telling R i can not do this anymore she must be dead and we have to find a way to go on. That day we found out she was with her birth mother and would join the group soon.

When we found out there was a group of people going to bring our kids home there was a relief that cam over us for a moment and then pure frustration. We waited and waited for news with a lot of disappointment that came along the way. Finally we had word that Z would be coming to the U.S.A and we would have to travel to Miami to pick her up.

Like i said our lives will ever be the same and we are just fine with that. We still think about the people of Haiti everyday and wish we could do more and wish more was being done to help rebuild the country. Haiti will always be a part of our lives and our hearts .

We went to St. Louis and Ohio to send time with R's family. We had another Christmas in Ohio and Z got another pillow pet which she LOVES and the new updated version of paper dolls. They are wood with magnets i LOVED them. She also got PJ'S and slippers.

Z met all her cousin Emma Claire Lily and Maggie in Ohio and Uncle Wade and aunt Jen she just loved playing with them.. It was great to see her have such a instant bond with her cousins. She became the beststy With Lily they both 3 going on 13 LOL

It all started on Christmas eve at the ho gal Zoo Christmas light. we has a great time and as you can see R was starting to feel sick on the Carousel. Then we went home put out chocolate cake and Pepsi for Santa and boy how he loved it.

Then He came Santa left the best gifts alot of toy. I asked Z did he eat his snack she said don't know but He BROUGHT ME TOYS, so cute to see how excited she was.

Then we went to My Moms house ans spent time with family it was fun.

I think we went a little over board this years on the costumes. She received a bee costume 2 years ago from here uncle wade and Aunt Jen and we thought she had grown out of (it is a 18moths to 24 months) but she was able to wears it. We had her Zebra costume made for the big day. She out her cousin hamburgers costume on to show him it would not hurt. And she is just the cutest fairy witch ever. This is her first Halloween so i guess we made up for years pasted.

A funny story.....

Grandma Milly came this week and what a week it was. We had so much fun. We went to Park city and went shopping Z had fun and then not. We carved pumpkins Z really did not know what to expect and she really did not care that we were doing it or did she want to help but there is always next year. We went to breakfast with the witches and that was so fun. Z got to go on stage she love to perform. Gardener Village was so much fun. It should be a busy next few months with the holidays coming and are anniversary and my birthday it should be new years before we know it

Well. Life has been great . Grandma Milly is about to visit and Z is so excited. She also gets to meet her grandpa Doug for the first time. We are going to cedar city to meet then and have a mini vacation. We are also getting ready for Halloween and as most of you know we love this day. Z is going to be a Zebra. She still does not get the whole Halloween thing she thinks it is just a pumpkin. She has also asked Christmas for just about everything and i mean everything. She dose not know that she asks Santa clause it is pretty funny. R and I about to celebrate our 7th wedding anniversary. I can not believe it has been 7 years. What a great journey we have been on together.

Just some pic of the fun we are having. We are always on the go. Z is going to a Broadway class and she loves it. She is learning Christmas music and dancing. She just sing and sing. Yesterday well celebrated Z's 3rd birthday. We had it at the tree House museum it was a lot f fun . Thank you all for coming. We had such a fun time. R made the birthday and 30 cup cakes from scratch It is a family recipe and so good. She got so many great clothes and a pillow pet. R and I got her a Barbie head she just loves to do hair.

What a wonderful day we are so happy to be celebrating her birthday with friends and family here at home.

Well 6 months WOW...... Z Is doing very well. She starts school in a couple of weeks. She is so smart. She know her colors and shapes. Loves to swim.

She is all things girly. She love to shop and get new clothes and shoes. She is pretty Bossy, I wonder how that will go when she get in school LOL . She love to make up her own song and sing them. So her new music school will be great for that. That last 6 months just flew by. Life is crazy busy. Z turns 3 in a months i can not believe that . We have a 3 year old. WOW

We have had a busy week we went to our friends house in Logan on the 3rd of July and we went to a parade and then had a BBQ and then we lit off some fireworks. Thanks Brandi and Jeremy we had a great time.

On the 4th of July we had my family over for fireworks. It was a fun time. Z loved the fireworks until we asked her to hold a sparkler and she had no use for that. LOL

On the 5th of July we went to the pool. Z had a fun time kind of she got cold and then wanted to leave. But we talked her into staying for a while.

Today we went to the park. Like we do everyday(most of the time) Z loves to go with her cousins that is what she tells me Ashley is my cousin and Evan is my cousin. She is starting to learn what people are to her like aunts uncles etc.... She said to me once Uncle Mack is my cousin LOL She is funny like that.

So we were playing in the water at the park and she could not see me but i could see her. Finally she turns around and say " MAMA your in trouble" I said " oh really why?" She said cuz i can't find you" apparently i was lost

R'S 38th Birthday

So R had his 38Th birthday on Tuesday the 8Th and i made him his favorite chocolate cake. It is a family recipe ( his grandma's) and I thought it might not turn out, but it was a GREAT cake and as you can see from the pics R loved it LOL Z did not like it, but that is what we expected she does not like sweets.

I stared this blog to keep in touch with other adoptive families and also to have something to show Z in the future. It also has been great for friends and family to see more of a day to day with us. I think it has been a great tool for this.

For the past two years this blog has been about getting Z home waiting for Z. Now it will be more about how our live have been changed by this 2 year old (going on 30)

Z is a very out going child she love to talk to everyone i mean everyone when we go some where she is always asking What your name? How are you? It is pretty funny but hard since we are tiring to teach her not to talk to strangers. She has defiantly come along way from being an orphan in Haiti

Grandma Milly

We had a great week Z got to meet her Grandma Milly. We had so much fun. We spent the day at the park with R's family and Z had a great time in the water. I was standing watching her and i noticed a group of kid that were like 10 years old, they were all whispering and looking at Z so i tried to hear what they were saying one of the boy in the group said "her dad must be Shaquille O Neil" haha I just laughed. We also went to the Zoo which Z love to see the animals she already new the names of. She kept asking when we were going to see the Zebra so we finally asked

where they were and unfortunately they both had died so i told her sorry Z we will not be able to see zebras today and that i would show her on the computer and she was fine with that. But right as i said that we walked up on to the carousel and she said ZEBRA she was so happy that she got to see the zebra even if it was only on the carousel. We also took Grandma to the tree house museum that was fun. Grandma Milly left yesterday and Z is missing her already.

MOMS DAY

The first Mom day with Z home what a great day. R got me beautiful flowers and a new scentsy (candle warmer) We went to breakfast with my Mom. Life is just moving right along. Z is dong really well. we took her to the doc to get more shots and she is 2' 11 " and 31 lbs. She has lost 4 lb but she is also not eating everything in sight. Her legs are getting better they have straightened out so much since she has been home. They wont even treat her for it until she is 7 years old because most children grow out of it by then so that is good to know

Today Z got her ears pieced today. She want the Flowers. She did not cry all she wanted was a sucker. She got done and said SUCKER? them we showed her and she kept saying Z has flower not mama. She is very proud of them. She woke up from her nap "I slept on my Flowers" LOL She is funny You can also see that she fell and she also like to tells us all about it and show us. This was about a month ago. She also gives us an update daily on all of her scratches or any thing on her skin that does not seem right. We just tell her your fine and she goes about her day. Z is adjusting to life and so are we. Got through my surgery still in physical therapy and it is very painful but it should get better eventually. I have not returned to work but hopefully in the next few weeks.

FUN WEEKEND

We had a great holiday weekend. On Friday we went to the three house museums. It is a fun place that they have for kids to do alot of different things to do. Like sit in the oval office. On sat we colored eggs with my niece and her son. It was a fun time. I think Ashley and I ha the most fun. LOL

On Easter the Easter bunny hid the eggs witch Z loved to find and brought a basket filled with stuff which she did not care so much about We watched Shark tale in the moring and had a wonderfull breakfast that PAPPA made us
We had dinner at grandma and grandpa turkey (that is what Z calls my parents) and all the family. IT was a great day. Great weekend.

We had another fun filled weekend. My brother is having his first child in April and so we had a baby shower open house for him and his beautiful girlfriend. It was alot of fun. I can not believe that my little brother will soon be a father. Z when to her aunt Jobins (Katie) and played with the puppy and had a great time.

On Sunday we had another baby shower. My niece Lindsie is having her first baby in May and so me and Z went to that and had a great time. She just loves her cousin Jenni.

On Monday we had our first post adoption interview with our social worker. It went well.

I am getting surgery on my shoulder next week so the updates may not be as regular. May be i will convince R to write and update or two LOL

We have a fun outing this weekend we road the front runner to SLC and went to build a bear. Z loved it. Z got a gift card from her Aunt and Uncle in Ohio(thanks Jen Wade and girls)

Z is really into Woody from toy story so she got to dress her bunny in Woody clothes it is really cute.

We had lunch with Grandpa Simon and Grandma Roxanne and then we headed back to Ogden. Z feel right to sleep. Well i not right to sleep first a tantrum then sleep :)

Big Girl Pants

So I started back to work this last. It was better than i thought. Z had no problem going to the sitter (my Niece) and mama had no problem going to work. LOL It was a little sad to leave her but I realize we all need time to ourselves. R get to spend some alone time with Z now that i am back to work so that is great.

Z is doing well eating is defiantly becoming way harder she know what she like and does not like now.

She is growing like a weed.....I never thought i would ever use that saying LOL but she is.

She is learning English and speaking up a storm

Z love to sing and dance. We will probably get her into a dance class soon.

We have been working on her "BIG GIRL PANTS" So i say "mama's big girl pants she then say "Zambries big girl pants" and i will say yes and then she says "papas big girl pants" and i say yes and laugh So we all are wearing our BIG GIRL PANTS LOL

Home Sweet Home

Well.... It had been over a month since Z has come home.

During the whole adoption process R and I would daydream about what it would be like when she came home. We would be places and be like ... "i wonder if Z would like to do this?" And for the most part she has. We would also think about the worse case scenario. In the adoption process you hear all kinds of stories and it had crossed our minds WHAT IF. I think we have been every lucky Z has been so great she really has had no problem adjusting. I think it has been harder for me and R to adjust. We went from 0 to 60 WOW.

It is getting easier every day. We are getting a regular schedule. I will be going back to work next week so i hope this does not effect Z. Life is good and crazy

well another has come and gone. Z is doing well she is now throwing tantrums in stores and before bed so regular 2 year old stuff. she love her papa she is a daddy's girl. She loves to wear his hat.

We went with grandma(my mom) and we were waiting in the car so i put her in the drivers seat and she honestly thought she was going to drive us home. She even made me put her seat belt on It was so funny and when i put her back in her seatta (seat) she do so mad. LOL

We are having a great time. She is now deciding what she likes to eat and does not eat everything on her plate if she does not like it. She loves to dance and sing. We make up songs and she sings them over and over.

Life with a child has changed our life so much. It has been a roller coaster of emotion we have ups we have down. We are a family.

Well week two is coming to a close. We had a great Valentines day R made breakfast and dinner Z loves shrimp and lobster, Z is such a happy and very loud child. We spend all day together and then papa come home and then she is all his they play and play. She repeats everything that is said and is so independent. She just started calling me mama. she has been calling R papa the whole time but today she stated calling him Ryan LOL just like her mama. She is giving out the kisses and I love yous.

Who knew how great this would be. Z has started to come out of her shell. She laughs smiles and talks like i have never heard a two year old talk so many words in creole i leaned chat"cat" Chen "dog" Wei and no allot of no She had gotten use to the dog and like the cats. she love to get her baby dressed. I am up getting ready to go to the air port to fly to Miami to get Z. Just started to think WOW this is going to be the last time R and I would wake up with out Z in our house. Well it has been a really busy couple of week. There has been a team of people "TEAM HOPE" in Haiti trying to get all of the children out. The Haitian government is not letting any of the children out of the country so we are waiting for that to change. We have a plane that is gong to be there on Friday hopefully our kids will be on it. There are so many people that have made this possible and i thank then, Here are a couple of pic of Z that is Scott holding Z he is part of team hope.

Please help our orphanage by donating money they need food and water. We got word that some of the children are okay they were in the process of moving the orphanage to a new bulding and the children in the new bulding are okay. There is no word on the other children.

Happy New Year. 2010 will be the year that changes our lives. Z will be home YEAH my brother is having a little girl YEAH and my niece is having a little girl YEAH. We are so excited with the thoughts of Z coming home soon. I can not believe it.

As you can see she is happy as ever. Looks like she might have scabies. She has not gained any weight and she is not any taller. Our file is still in passports. Hopefully we will hear something soon now that the Haitian government is back to work.

Today is the day (6 years ago) I married the most wonderful man in the world. I love my husband for so many reasons and everyday i find something new to love him for. I love him for always laughing at my jokes, understanding that some time i am just going to be crazy, letting me be me and saying "that's why i love you" supporting everything i do, taking this long journey we are on to start our family.
